About (Biography)

Born and raised in Perrin, Texas, John Kuhn spent his early years crawling and eating. At some point, high school teacher Sherry Brown told him he should be a writer. (Other high school teachers usually just told him to go to the office.)

He has taken Sherry Brown's advice, but he took the long way to get there.

After duping Tarleton State University into giving him an English degree, John left Texas in 1995 to work as a volunteer in the Andes of Peru. While there, he met his beautiful wife Noelia. When he returned from South America in 1997, John began a teaching career that would eventually lead him back to a familiar place--the principal's office.

John started writing for money in 2006. He has written lots of stuff, but Texas Eccentrics is his first book.

Texas Eccentrics is a fun read that tells the stories of over one hundred unique Texans, both native and adopted, who have made names for themselves in fields as diverse as business, sports, art, and politics.

Ross Perot, Mark Cuban, and Dennis Rodman are just some of the folks you'll read about in this book, along with lesser-known--but no less interesting--Texas eccentrics like Thomas Jefferson "Stout" Jackson, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Jim "Silver Dollar" West.

Due out in October 2008, Texas Eccentrics is the perfect read for a Texas history buff with a sense of humor.
